Use this recipe to make these quick and easy Parmesan Snack Crisps. They can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for fuss-free snacking.

Parmesan Snack Crisps

My husband Michael and I recently started the Trim Healthy Mama program and we have been struggling to find snacks he likes. He grew up in an Italian household and didn’t even know what guacamole was when I met him. For a girl from Southern California who grew up with an avocado tree in her front yard, this was shocking on a painful level.

He doesn’t like Mexican food, nope, not even tacos and would prefer to eat nothing but pasta and garlic bread. I know these things are deal-breakers for some of you but I promise he has many other redeeming qualities.

Let’s just say we have spent more money then I care to count on snacks he hates so when his face lit up when tasting this Parmesan Snack Crisps I was so happy, I think I might have even yelled, “FINALLY!” I am on a mission to find more snacks we both love that are quick and inexpensive to make so if any of you other Mamas have any suggestions please drop a comment below!

PRO-TIPS:

  • Don’t be afraid to play with the flavors. The possibilities are literally endless. Making these the first time I used garlic powder (the cheese is salty so using garlic salt would make it overly salty), crushed red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, fresh cracked black pepper, and my personal favorite, everything bagel seasoning.
  • My friend asked me if you could use the powdered parmesan from the green can. The answer is no! I tried it to spare you all the trouble. It makes a crisp but the texture was grainy and the flavor was like bad parmesan and burn corn starch. You’re welcome for saving you from that terrible experience. I have included a FAIL pic below for photographic evidence LOL!

3. Scoop a level tablespoon of cheese into piles on the baking sheet. The cheese spreads out a little so make sure you leave about 1 inch of space. Sprinkle your choice of seasoning on each pile.

4. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 5 mins.

5. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool. Store in container or plastic baggie in the fridge.

Special Note for Trim Healthy Mamas:
This delicious snack is one of my favorites but a bit high in calories, after all, it is just cheese. The serving size is about 5 crisps but you could eat 2 servings if you wanted but make sure this S snack is in line with whatever you've eaten if you're eating within 3 hours of your last meal.
