Use this recipe to level up your coffee game with this delicious Salted Caramel Coffee Syrup (Sugar-Free).
I don’t know about you but I am the type of person that loves variety, especially when it comes to food and drinks. I HATE eating the traditional protein, veggie, and starch. Even when I eat chicken strips I need like 6 different dips!
Anyone else? I guess I get bored easily. So, it’s no surprise that this applies to my morning coffee.
I have made several of these sugar-free coffee syrups to spice up my mornings. This recipe for the salted caramel coffee syrup is the second one I’ve posted. The first was the Sugar-Free Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup.

Quick Note, I used Gentle Sweet with Xylitol in this recipe because the one with xylitol doesn’t crystalize. I know my fellow Trim Healthy Mamas will know what that is and probably already have it in their kitchens but for my readers who don’t know, Gentle Sweet is a stevia blend that is made by the lovely people at the Trim Healthy Mama Company. It is a natural substitute that is by far my favorite because it has ZERO after taste. I use it to bake all the time and no one can ever tell that it’s not sugar!

Pro-Tips:
- Buy a pump! Having this stored in your fridge, equipped with a pump is going to simplify your morning coffee!
- I used Gentle Sweet with Xylitol in this recipe and it did not crystalize at all. I have had comments back of it crystalizing when using other sweeteners even the Gentle Sweet without Xylitol.
- I have included a FREE graphic below for all of my readers who are also crafters. Used a Cricut Explore and vinyl. See below for a complete list of tools and equipment.

Yield:
Appx. 2 1/2 – 3 cups
Ingredients:
2 cups – Water
1 ½ cups – Gentle Sweet with Xylitol
3 tbsp – Caramel Extract
1 tsp – Vanilla Extract
½ tsp – Kosher Salt
Instructions
Step One
Pour the water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
Step Two
Add the Gentle Sweet to the boiling water and allow it to dissolve completely. Once the water is clear again you are ready to move to the next step.
Step Three
Add the caramel extract, the vanilla extract, and the salt. Stir to combine all the ingredients. Allow to boil for about 2 additional minutes.
Step Four
Pour the salted caramel coffee syrup into a mason jar and allow to cool to room temperature. I use a pump on my mason jars because it’s just a lot more convenient in the mornings to have that pump.
I found the pumps on amazon and I love them. The pumps fit the regular mouth mason jars, they do not fit the wide mouth ones. They are linked above in the “tools” list.

Hi, I’m loving this! However I’m wondering why the salted caramel calls for more gentle sweet than the vanilla one? I make my own gentle sweet with xylitol and I’m finding it crystalizes. If I cut back it still does but not as much. Interestingly the vanilla one doesn’t.

Hello! It’s just my preference. The flavor profiles of Vanilla and Caramel are different and I prefer sweeter with the caramel. I have placed my both in the fridge and left it on the counter and none of it has ever crystalized but I don’t make my own gentle sweet so I don’t have experience with that. I have read that xylitol causes crystallization but even still I think it depends on the climate you live in as well. I’m so glad you like the syrups!

Does this have to be refrigerated? If not do you know the self life of room temp vs refrigerated?
Jennifer
I didn’t refrigerate mine but depending on the climate it may crystallize a little if you don’t. It lasts for months in the fridge, I’m not sure how long the on the counter shelf life is because we use it within a week or two of it being made.
