Use this tutorial to make Easy Peel Hardboiled Eggs in your Instant Pot. The peel comes off so easy every time, no more standing at the kitchen sink peeling eggs, just perfectly peeled eggs every time!

This is one of my favorite kitchen hacks for a few reasons, first of which is that it actually works! I hate seeing videos for “hacks” that never work!

Second, because my family loves to snack on hardboiled eggs and they go through them so fast so I love that I can make these in a short period of time and I don’t have to spend an hour peeling them because the shell refuses to come off!

Third, this one is a bit of personal pride LOL, my mom would not let me touch eggs when I was helping her cook in the kitchen as a kid because they came out looking like the surface of the moon or like they had a close encounter with a hungry tiger. It was bad. So the fact that I found a process that makes it so easy is so satisfying to me.

Pro-Tips:

  • If your eggs are newer, 1 to 2 weeks old, cook them for 10mins instead of 5mins followed by 10mins of natural depressurization.
  • If you don’t have an Instant Pot, you can boil a pot of water and boil the eggs for 15 mins. Pick up at step #3.

Instant Pot Cooking Rack

Instructions:

1. Place the cooking rack in the Instant Pot and add the water. Stack the eggs on the rack making sure they are all on the rack.

2. Put the lid on the Instant Pot and cook the eggs on high pressure for 5 mins if your using eggs that are 3-4 week old and 10 mins if you’re using eggs that are 1-2 weeks old. Once the cooking process is done, allow the eggs to sit in the instant pot for an additional 10 mins.

3. Release the pressure from the Instant Pot. Make sure you allow all the pressure to come out before opening the lid. Remove the lid and transfer the eggs to the bowl of ice water using tongs. Allow the eggs to sit in the ice water for 10-15 mins.

4. This is the satisfying part! Crack the egg by gently tapping it on the table then rolling it around in your fingers cracking up the rest of the shell. You will feel when the shell is ready to come off. You can watch the video tutorial above to see exactly how I did it.
