Use this recipe to make No Yeast Quick White Bread. This recipe is so easy to make and the best part is it doesn’t require yeast or proofing.
To say I’m not a patient person is quite the understatement so proofing bread and waiting for yeast to bloom is NOT my jam! Needless to say this easy, yeast-free, no proofing required white bread is right up my alley! It’s great for sandwiches, toast, french toast or anything you would normally use bread for.
Pro-Tips:
- Don’t over mix this bread if you do it will not rise. The leavening is dependent on the chemical reactions between the baking soda, baking powder and liquid ingredients. The reaction begins as soon as those ingredients make contact and will continue for a portion of the baking time and you want the majority of the reaction to occur in the oven where the heat will set the bread and make it beautifully fluffy.
No Yeast Quick White Bread
Tools Needed:
Loaf Pan
Non-Stick Baking Spray (You can butter and flour your pan but it doesn’t work as well in my experience.)
Yield:
One Loaf
Ingredients:
1 cup – Greek Yogurt
1 cup – 2% Milk (You may need extra if your dough is too dry at the end)
¼ cup – Avocado Oil (You can use any oil without a strong flavor)
¼ cup – Honey
2 lg. – Eggs
1 cup – Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
3 cups – All Purpose Flour
2 tsps – Salt
1 tbsp – Baking Powder
1 tsp – Baking Soda
Instructions:
1. In a bowl whisk, together the yogurt, milk, oil, honey and eggs. Once those ingredients are throughly combined add the oats and allow them to soak for 1 hour.
2. After letting your oats soak for an hour preheat your oven to 350°. Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and prepare your loaf pan by spraying it with non-stick spray.
3. This part goes kinda fast but remember to do it gently and do not overmix the dough.
Add the oat mixture to the dry ingredients and gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet until it’s all combined. You will know you’re done when there is no visible flour. If you find you dough is very dry add a tablespoon of milk and mix in gently.
AS SOON AS the dough comes together transfer it to the loaf pan and put it in the oven. Bake for 55-65 mins. If you can see the bread getting too brown on top place a sheet of foil over it to stop the browning.
4. To remove your bread from the pan run a knife between the outer edges of the bread and the pan to release the sides then flip the pan upside down on a cooling rack. Flip the bread back over and allow to cool.
